When it comes to exercise, i'm as lazy as you can get. The gym is my idea of sweaty, expensive hell and Jillian Michaels can stuff her thirty-day-thundering-around, my parents safe in the knowledge i won't crash through the ceiling. In a bid to tone up however, I decided to do fitness my way - aka the easy way.
Without the stress or expensive monthly payouts I decided to take full advantage of my village and powerwalk for free. Doing a 20 minute fast beat powerwalk before work in the early morning is doing wonders. I can sweat, look horrendous, even do a little dance to Beyonce whilst powerwalking around my local park and block. Instead of feeling sleepy (cue dribbling and missing my stop) on the train to work, I feel wide awake and raring to go. For real.
Run the Earth Sweater - (£45.00) / Exploded Nike T-shirt - (£25.00) / Nike Free Spin Windrunner Jacket - (£65.00) / Adidas Trank Pants - (£30.00) / Capri Pants (£25.00) / Logo Rally Pants - (£40.00)
With a new hobby comes the new excuse for must needed clothing - such a girl, it hurts. After having a mad dash on the sale section of women's sportswear store JD Sports (a place I haven't haunted since my teen years - though their sales are pretty epic) I picked up two pairs of trainers - both highly unsuitable for running. Case in point here: 1, 2. Though I did buy them in children's sizes, having size 5.5 feet is far more reasonable apparently.
Being a Nike fangirl, I also picked up a pair of tapered trackie bottoms which Matthew likes to say I look like an overlarge toddler. Meh. Super comfy and fluffy lining, it's enough to make you want to wear sweat pants forever. I did not just type that. Though I am intrigued to purchase the leggings for milder weather, as they will be more lightweight. Same goes with the coral waterproof jacket, stylish enough to make me haul my ass out of bed on a rainy day? I hope!
Though it really is time I upgraded to the running shoe... get ready, get set... SWOON!
Why hello there. Fashion meets Fitness. Forget the fug Nike Free Runs i'm all over the Nike Free TR Fits whilst thundering along to my Powerwalk Playlist..
If the thought of power walking / general exercise still sounds like a chore - as let's face it, it is - I've been dragging my dad out for evening walks (read: hikes) after dinner around our village. We plod along for two miles, me chatting his ear off about the woes of life, him pretending to listen and keep up.
Not only do I feel sleepy for bed, freeing myself from my normally glued-to-my-hand iPhone, it's honestly feels good to have some fresh air. So grab yourself a walking buddy and make the most of having summer evenings!
First up, what exercise do you partake in? Secondly, what do you wear? Thirdly, agree with me on how cool the trainers are AND my playlist (which may have taken a whole evening trying to work out how to embed in this post...).
