MEAL TICKET: THE BREAKFAST CLUB

On Thursday lunch time Sarah and I skipped along to The Breakfast Club in Spitalfields, via Liverpool Station. After a dash to Westfield where we mooched and sighed at ourselves for visiting the day before payday, we settled on a large lunch (as per usual). Having heard rave reviews about The Breakfast Club - I wanted in. I mean who doesn't love breakfast? Especially all American style. Now you're all nodding.

In a back street alley just off the main road, lies the egg yolk yellow brekky club. Walking inside you find yourself in an 80's cafe, crammed full of miss-matched junk. In a good way.

Whether you fancy a full on fry up or a more refined (posh) eggs benedict, slabs of American style pancakes or play it safe muesli (really, who goes out for breakfast and orders that?!) they've got all bases covered. Yum.

In true in fashion, I played worse than the muesli card and ordered from their lunch time menu. Oh yes. From pie n mash, sausages in gravy, pulled pork sandwiches.. I hope I'm making you hungry. Sarah and I went for the Fish Finger Sandwich, a personal favourite of ours.

Complete with home made coleslaw (hubba hubba) and skin on chips, this bad boy was easily demolished.

Because, there is always dessert when Sarah is involved, I opted for the banoffee pie pie and scoop of vanilla ice cream. Hands down the best I've ever had, not too sickly sweet with a strong kick of both banana and toffee. God, I could eat it all over again.

 In Short: The Breakfast Club

The menu was epic, love the humorous witty remarks - somewhere in the world, it's always time for breakfast. So true. Service was painfully slow, but with a full house of customers it is, what it is. I paid £15 smackers for a lemonade (they don't really serve soft drinks, bit weird?), burger and dessert. Pretty good going. The decor / vibe was bloody amazing, don't forget to visit the loo just to see the My Little Pony wall paper that has been artfully scribbled over by guests. Bizarre but it works.

Have you ever been to The Breakfast Club? I'll be returning.. to actually have breakfast next time.

The Breakfast Club is based in Spitalfields, Angel, Hoxton, Soho and Battersea. You can dribble over the menu here
