If you're a dedicated Pinterest pinner then you'll know the deal when it comes to chambray shirts. That stylish casual cool look with converse and skinnies, to instant glam with a slick of hot pink lippie and layering over a bejewelled statement necklace. I needed in.

What no better place to search out my own slice of chambray heaven than J.Crew? Preppy really doesn't come better than this. Not on English soil of course (break the bank I don't think so), whilst in New Jersey I picked up this soft, sort of worn chambray offering in an outlet. I forget the price on purpose. But it was cheap. Real cheap. Pairing up with my neoprene flippy skirt from H&M, one of my best fashion buys for a long time - it sucks in anything - complete with my jewelled necklace from Acessorize and chelsea boots, I may not have the Pinterest pose down but my outfit surely ticked those american girl preppy style boxes, right?
