Eye brightening shadows have soon became a must-have in my stash, creating that radiant and romantic look that we swoon over in editorials (mainly from Lisa Elderidge). I've decided I'm all for that doe-eyed look - and quite frankly if it makes me look even half awake on my morning commute I'm sold.
Here are a few that make me want to sing 'oh soooo pretty!' from the rooftops:
∙ Laura Mercier's Ballet Pink is neutral girls heaven. A baked eyeshadow, the shimmering light pink with champagne undertones spells the perfect sparkling evening look. For an intense shade, wet the brush before using an finish with a slick of liquid liner for a Hollywood worthy look.
∙ Rolling back to the unveiling of the first Urban Decay Naked palette, my first proper foray into the world of blending shadows and creating a 'look.' Falling head over heels with 'Sin' and 'Virgin' of which, quite literally opened up my eyes to the world of eye brightening shadows. My fail safe beauty wonders, they work so effortlessly together - and no one can deny the buttery goodness of an UD shadow.
∙ My beloved Nars, a brand that really doesn't receive enough praise for their legendary eye shadow duos. Silk Road is no exception, housing a peachy toned champagne and a pretty rosy shadow that's flecked with rose gold shimmer, this duo is certainly one to write home about.
The peach offers a sheer wash of vibrant colour that instantly has you looking awake and revived, a post-holiday glow if you like. Not to forget the rosy shade, it's ideal for adding definition and shimmering things up come evening.
∙ Jest by Mac was a complete impulse purchase whilst waiting for a connecting flight in New Jersey. Because duty free shopping is practically free right? A frost formula, this champagne shadow is buttery soft to the touch with a barely there pink sheen. Light reflecting, a wash of Jest swept over the lid instantly brightens for a summers day look or a much-needed winter pick-me-up.
